Simone and Megan
Megan and Simone are part of the Community Mentoring Program, which is a school-based mentoring program in South Australia. Megan, who is a former student of the school, has been a mentor for the past 4 years and a mentor to Simone for the past 2 years. Since they met, they have accomplished many things such as scrapbooking, cooking and lots more!

Peter and Vince
Peter and Vince are from the Break Through Mentoring Program, which is a youth employment mentoring program linking disadvantaged young people with employment mentors who are currently employed in the local community. Vince became a mentor with the desire to "pay forward" his experience of being mentored when he was younger. Vince has helped Peter become more motivated, confident and driven.

Amy and Mel & Di
Amy and Mel & Di are part of the Kids Friends Program which is run by Barnardos. Amy and Mel & Di meet once a week and they thoroughly enjoy their time together. They have been friends for five years and like to cook, work in the garden, read books, go on picnics and lots more!

Noosa Mentor Summit
Thank you to everyone who attended the Noosa Mentor Summit! The Summit was held on Saturday, 21 March 2009 with about 40 participants who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and raise the profile of youth mentoring. We would like to especially thank Andrew Fuller, our speaker and United Synergies, our Mentor Summit partner!

In the true spirit of mentoring, the Youth Mentoring Network is celebrating successful mentoring pairs with the Youth Mentoring 'Your Story' competition.
 
Mentors and Mentees from all over Australia are invited to send in their mentoring story and photos . You don't have to be a professional writer or photographer. You just need to have lots of enthusiasm and a great mentoring spirit!

Perth To Paradise - DONE!
Jack has cycled into Surfers Paradise to finish his epic across Australia bike ride - cycling 4,500 kms in just 30 days to raise funds and awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia. The video is a wonderful snapshot of the journey from start to finish! We would like to congratulate Jack and his family. Victorian Volunteer Mentor Summit
Youth mentoring programs from across Victoria came together in July 2008 to celebrate Youth Mentoring Week. This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and raise the profile of youth mentoring. Youth Mentoring Week concluded on a chilly Saturday morning in Parkville with the inaugural Volunteer Mentor Summit.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Video - Think Big
Big Brothers Big Sisters Melbourne has produced a fantastic video highlighting three mentoring pairs - Michael and Stevie, Catherine and Jessica and Kavan and Kane. The video is also used to promote their organisation through YouTube. The video is a great example of how you can promote your organisation throughout the worldwide community. Cody and Paul
Cody and Paul are from the Plan-It Youth Mentoring Program, run by the NSW Department of Education and Training.  These two were well-matched from the outset. They found a great deal of common ground with their sporting interests but this has evolved into a positive outlook on life and its uncertainties.  It’s been great to watch them joke about trivial matters but then concentrate on the more serious matters with common ambition.

Shontelle and her mentor, Jan, are participating in the GR8 MATES school-based youth mentoring program, run by the Schools Industry Partnership, which operates in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith areas . Now in Year 10, Shontelle has been exploring possible career options with Jan.

Ashlea and Lise are part of the Plan - it Youth Riverina Program. They hit it off right from the beginning, mainly because of Ashlea’s willingness to tackle something new and because Lise is great listener and is prepared to go the ‘extra mile’ for her mentees. At the celebration finale Ashlea put on a big performance.

Samantha and Georgina (respectively), are from the NASCA / John Brown Sport & Tourism Youth Foundation Scholarship Mentor Program. A relatively new pair Georgina and Samantha have been working together for the past 9 months.
