Many programs rely on funding grants as a major source of their income. Below is a list of sites broken down into grants which are available nation wide and state by state. Major corporate organisations also provide funding to volunteer based organisations and advertise the grants on their own websites. Companies include large investment companies, banks and large retail chains.

Nationwide

The portal provides links to government departments and community organisations which provide grants and further funding.

The Australian Research Council (ARC) is a statutory authority within the Australian Government's Education, Science and Training portfolio. The ARC manages the National Competitive Grants Program, which provides grants and support to researchers.

FundAssist is a leading consulting firm providing expert funding assistance services to community groups throughout regional Australia.

GrantsLINK helps organisations find available funding under a variety of grant programs for individuals, businesses and communities to help develop solutions to local and national problems.
 
GrantSearch is a comprehensive funding database and actively seeks funding sources offered by all levels of government, universities, foundations, the private sector and overseas sources specifying Australian applicants. This is not a free site - you must subscribe to access their information.

Our Community
Our Community is a social enterprise that provides advice and tools for community groups and schools. Our Community offers a wide variety of services and products on grants and fundraising, many of them free.

Philanthropy Australia is the national body for philanthropy and is a non-profit membership organisation. It offers a range of services to support those seeking grants from philanthropic sources, including publications, workshops and subscriptions to The Resource Centre which enables you to access the full range of services for grant-seekers, including The Australian Directory of Philanthropy and a copy of Successful Submission Writing.

The Foundation for Young Australians is an independent national grant-making organisation, funding and working in partnership with youth-led initiatives which aim to positively contribute to young people and their communities.
 
*NEW* The Foundation is currently running the Your Eyes Only competition for young Australians aged 12 to 15 years old. The successful entries nominate a local organisation or community group to receive an award of $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000. Hurry, entries for Your Eyes Only are accepted until 2 September 2008.

communitybuilders.nsw

Communitybuilders.nsw is an interactive clearing house where the users contribute its content and ongoing development by publishing their stories and tips on the site. Users include different community organisations, community workers, and all levels of government and business. The website provides funding sources and how to support your bid by writing a successful submission. The site also looks at alternative means of support and other ways to provide resources for your project or organisation.


New South Wales State Government grants search page

Youth.NSW is the NSW Government's website for young people and workers in the youth field. Go to this site for links to funding opportunities for people working with young people.

WESTIR
WESTIR is the acronym for Western Sydney (WEST) Information and Research (IR) Service. WESTIR is a not-for-profit community organisation, which is partly funded by the NSW Department of Community Services.
 
The Youth Action & Policy Association NSW Inc is offering a Youth Participation Grant which is a new funding opportunity for young people. If you are aged between 12 and 25 years, and living in NSW, you can apply for a youth participation grant.

*NEW* The Office of Youth is currently running the Youth Participation and Access Program and Mentoring and Capacity Building Initiative 2009-2011 Grants process. Funding for 12 youth mentoring targeted projects is available for 3 years, up to $50,000 per annum. Applications close 5 September 2008.
 
The Youth Affairs Council of Victoria Inc. (YACVic) is an independent, non-government organisation which is a policy advocate on young people's issues in Victoria. Their website provides a grants and funding guide.
